This is Annah, my vet as well as my daughter. We are co-owners in the Bullmastiff endeavor. As you can see , she is great with all sizes and kinds of animals. The mastiff's live with her and go to work with her. Our dogs and puppies receive the very best medical care , plus lots of love.
Our name, we have hunting land iin northern Missouri and one of the roads running thru it is Copper Trail. The entire family enjoys this acreage .... Thus, the perfect kennel name!!!(pond pictured on first page is ours from this land).
We have always had a big dog although I have mainly raised and shown Chihuahuas for years. I have raised dogs since 1984. The kids grew up with dogs and horses.
When our Great Dane passed away at the age of 13, we wanted another large breed. I have always thought that bullmastiffs were beautiful,
We have really enjoyed them.and are having alot of fun in the show ring. What great dogs they are, always making us laugh . An easy breed to fall in love with.
Bullmastiffs are a large working breed dog. They originated in Britain in the mid 1800's. They are from a genetic background of 60% English mastiff and 40 % Bulldog. The breed was first recognized by the AKC in 1934.
Bullmastiff are physically, extremely strong and powerful, while at the same time, get their feelings hurt easily. They tend to be a relatively low energy level breed, needing exercise of course but love laying with you on the couch. However, they can not be kenneled all day while their family is away if you want a well mannered dog. Training and socialization is very important for these dogs to become well behaved family members, as bullmastiffs can be hard headed. Boredom and lack of attention ends up with your couch being eaten. You have to spend time with them and provide consistant rules, training and love. These dogs are naturally protective of their owners and homes, they are however known as gentle giants. .
This breed may not be for everyone, I would advise they are best suited to homes with no small dogs or cats, you need to do your research on the breed and decide if this is the dog for you.
We hope you enjoy your time on our site and that your hurry back. !!!
THANK YOU FOR VISITING....
This is me, Karen at Westminister with one of my Chihuahuas. I love the Bullmastiffs but I have a bad knee so my youngest daughter shows them for us. We both show the Chihuahuas.
